Who Will Win IPL 2021?
Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. Although the official dates for the tournament are yet to come, it is expected to be held in April 2021. The last season was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to Covid 19 epidemic. But this time, the IPL 2021 will entertain the audience at the home venue in India.
Eight teams Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata Knight Riders will once again enthral the audience to a great level.
Last year, Mumbai Indians won the trophy after they were by far the best team of the tournament. Mumbai Indians ended on the top spot on the points table and won the Qualifier 1 and final match to grab the trophy for a record 5th time.
In IPL 2021, there have been some changes in the eight teams after IPL 2021 auction. Some new players have joined the squad which has added more value to the team. Here we will give you a quick recap summary on the status for each of these eight teams who participated in IPL 2021.
Mumbai Indians IPL Predictions 2021
Rohit Sharma is leading the most successful franchise across T20 leagues in the world. They are the most successful team in the tournament’s history with five title wins and would be attempting their third title in a row. They have a bunch of young and exciting cricketers who are well guided by the experienced blokes in the side. The likes of Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Chris Lynn, Suryakumar Yadav, Trent Boult, Kieron Pollard, and Jasprit Bumrah make them a formidable force. Having retained their core group of players for the next season the team would be one to watch out.
Delhi Capitals IPL Predictions 2021
It has been a turnaround for the side in the last two seasons where their stocks have gone up. Shreyas Iyer is leading the side from the front and they would have been disappointed to have failed at the final hurdle last year. Nonetheless, they are side for the future that boats of young blood. The side has retained the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Kagiso Rabada, Rishab Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, and Ravichandran Ashwin and they have the ability to go the distance in this year’s tournament.
Chennai Super Kings IPL Predictions 2021
2020 was the worst season for MS Dhoni’s side as the team finished 7th on the points table, their worst ever show, and the first time they were not among the Top 4. The side has in the past set standards for consistency. But age seems to have caught up with the team with some mocking them as the dad’s army with most of their key players being on the wrong side of 30. However, they still have few exciting names in Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Lungi Ngidi, Sam Curran, Imran Tahir, Faf du Plessis, and Deepak Chahar and shall look to put the disappointment of the last season behind.
Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL Predictions 2021
A star-studded side and the wait for a title win, that’s been the story of Virat Kohli’s side over the years. They did well by their standards in the last season finishing 4th after struggling at the bottom half of the points table in the three previous seasons. Talent has never been an issue for the side that boasts of players like AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Kane Richardson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Navdeep Saini. They always start with new hope every season and we have to wait and see if the Challengers are able to grab the elusive crown this year. The fans have been predicting a title win for RCB almost every year with their famous slogan “E Sala Cup Namde” which translates to “this time the cup is ours”. However, RCB lacks the ability to play consistently throughout the season with the same vigor and enthusiasm as the Mumbai Indians do. Our IPL predictions for this season reckon the cup is likely to continue being a distant dream for Virat Kohli and his team.
Punjab Kings IPL Predictions 2021
They haven’t moved beyond the 5th position in the last five seasons and finished 6th last year. Great players don’t always play complementary roles and this has been the story for KL Rahul’s side. Though he finished as the top run-getter last season, there was little support from others and the team was a sitting duck in most games it played. Rahul would be looking for a turnaround here and look at the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mohammad Shami, Nicholas Pooran, and Chris Jordan to play well as a unit and earn the side its first title win.
Kolkata Knight Riders IPL Predictions 2021
Champions in 2012 and 2014 the side finished 5th in the last season. Eoin Morgan had to take the leadership role from Dinesh Karthik midway through the last season. Their off-the-field news has dominated the headlines more than their performance and Morgan would have to get the house in order for this edition. He has plenty of exciting players at his disposal and would look at the likes of Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Lockie Ferguson, and Pat Cummins to live up to the challenge as they aim at their third title. They would be the dark horses for this edition of the tournament. However, as the talks of releasing some of the major players in the KKR setup emerge, it looks like the team is about to begin a new chapter in their IPL struggles. As a result, it is only natural and tempting for IPL 2021 predictions to not consider KKR as a major contender for the title.
Rajasthan Royals IPL Predictions 2021
The winner of the inaugural title in 2008, the team has never looked the same again. They finished at the bottom of the points table last year and Sanju Sampson who takes over as skipper this year would look to infuse fresh energy into the squad. They have quality players in the camp with big names like David Miller, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Rahul Tewatia. It would be interesting to see these players and able to show us exciting cricket and end the 13-year wait for their second IPL title.
Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL Predictions 2021
David Warner’s side has been playing consistent cricket at the IPL but their inability to win crunch games has cost them dearly since their last title in 2016. Since then they have made it to the playoffs in the last four seasons but have failed in crucial games. They were unlucky last year to have had to deal with injuries to their new-ball bowlers. Warner would like that to end as he leads a team full of promising talent that includes the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan, Manish Pandey, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mitchell Marsh.
