Brendon McCullum, who was just brought into the England Cricket Team setup a few months ago, has managed to get England Cricket Team nine wins out of their last 10 Tests, including both home and away games.
With the white wash of the Pakistan Cricket Team, England Cricket Team has become the only team in Test history to have swept the Pakistan Cricket Team 3-0 in their backyard.
Speaking in a short interview for the Pakistan Cricket Team Board, Brendon McCullum explained the thought process behind his and captain Ben Stokes’ motive of playing aggressively in red-ball games.
"We had to work incredibly hard across all three Tests. Pakistan Cricket Team has played some really good cricket throughout, though the scorecard may not suggest it, they were worthy opponents." the England Cricket Team head coach asserted.
When asked by a reporter if he’d wanted a 100% win record in the 10 games he has coached, Brendon McCullum said he wouldn’t have it any other way around.
Brendon McCullum hailed Stokes and affirmed that the skipper made his intentions clear when he took the captaincy from Joe Root. He said that Stokes wanted the team to bat aggressively and put the opposition under pressure.
The coach admitted that they dominated the first Test, but the second game that was played in Multan could have gone either way.
The tone for the series was set in the first Test, as Baz put it, where England Cricket Team went on to amass a whopping 675 runs. This forced Pakistan Cricket Team to rethink their team selection and on-field decisions as well.
Brendon McCullum is of the view that his idea has never been to score big runs in red-ball games. All he wanted to do for the upcoming players is to feel at ease and play freely, he said.
What Bazball Has Done For England Cricket Team So Far
Many cricket pundits had termed their approach Bazball, a term that Brendon McCullum reportedly doesn’t like to hear.
The pundits claimed that this method will not let England Cricket Team have much success against top sides, but so far, so good for Stokes’s men. They have been phenomenal in their games regardless of the wicket, opposition, or playing conditions.
Their openers and middle-order batsmen have come and gone out of the Test side, but their style remains the same.
Before bamboozling Pakistan Cricket Team, they overwhelmed New Zealand, India, and South Africa, in that order.
NZ’s spanking of 3-0 is where England Cricket Team began raising eyebrows in the cricketing world, showing what a side can achieve when they play without fear of failure in the most gruesome, testing, and longest format the sport has to offer.
How Will Pakistan Cricket Team Respond To New Zealand Cricket Team?
New Zealand will embark on Pakistan Cricket Team in a day or two to play their first Test in Karachi. It will be a tough ask to get a demoralized Pakistan Cricket Team side to play against an equally resilient foreign side after a tough spanking through the hands of Stokes and co.
Regardless of the loss, Babar Azam’s men will have much more clarity walking into the team to face Kane Williamson’s men.
They now have the services of the in-form Saud Shakeel and Abrar Ahmed, who gave the England Cricket Team batters a run for their money in both Tests he played in.
He has already pocketed 17 wickets in his debut series, almost asking the selection committee why they didn’t pick him for the opening Test which the hosts lost by 74 runs in Rawalpindi.
