The Patna Pirates have been one of the most successful teams in the PKL, having won the championship title in 2016, 2017, and 2018. They have also been runners-up in the league in 2015 and 2019. Patna Pirates Team: Season 1
Their first season was excellent, but they fell short of crossing the finish line and ended up fourth in the points table. Despite qualifying for playoffs, they lost to Jaipur Pink Panthers in the semifinals but managed to secure third place by defeating Bengaluru Bulls.

In their second season, they promised much but failed to deliver and finished fourth again after being defeated by U Mumba in the semifinals.

The foundation of a championship-winning team was laid during this remarkable season for the Patna Pirates. After showing promise in the first two seasons, the Pirates truly came into their own in the third edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Pardeep Narwal, a rising star, made a stunning debut by scoring 116 raid points and became the season's highest scorer. Narwal also played a crucial role and led the defence with 55 tackle points.

The Pirates, which is the best kabaddi team in PKL, continued their winning ways in the fourth season of the PKL, with stellar performances from Pardeep Narwal and Fazal Atrachali. Pardeep racked up 131 raid points, while Atrachali contributed 52 tackle points.
In the semifinals, Patna once again defeated Puneri Paltan, 37-33, and went on to face Jaipur Pink Panthers in the final. With a comfortable eight-point victory, Patna secured their second consecutive title, and Pardeep Narwal became a fan favorite.

In PKL Season 5, the Patna Pirates made history by winning their third consecutive title. The season saw the addition of four new teams, bringing the total to 12, and each franchise played 22 matches. Despite Patna winning only 10 of their group stage games, Pardeep Narwal continued his dominance and was the most successful raider of the season with an astonishing 369 points, a record that still stands.

However, things took a turn for worse when teams were divided into two zones according to geographical locations during Season 6; Patna, which is the best Kabaddi team in India, finished fourth in Zone B and failed to qualify for playoffs which were disappointing for fans of Pirates worldwide.

In Season 7 they retained superstar Pradeep Narwal along with Vikash Jaglan but released Manish; however, despite this move, they finished eighth on the points table which was not what fans were hoping for from this talented team.

In the 8th edition of the PKL, Patna Pirates held the top spot on the leaderboard. However, despite their impressive performance, they were unable to secure their fourth title as they lost a closely contested final against Dabbang Delhi by a mere one point. Notably, Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, an Iranian defender, had an exceptional season and emerged as the most successful defender during that campaign.

In Season 9, the Patna Pirates, widely regarded as the best kabaddi team in PKL, faced a challenging start. They managed to secure just one victory in their first seven matches during the Bengaluru leg of the tournament. However, upon moving to Pune for the second leg, the Pirates turned their fortunes around by winning five consecutive games. However, they finished the season in 10th position.

In the previous edition of Pro Kabaddi League, Patna Pirates did well in the league stage and somehow managed to qualify for the playoffs. However, in the playoffs, Patna did not perform as per the expectations and finished the season in 6th position.
The Patna team did well in the defense and most of the points were scored by the defenders.
