Now, the 2023 edition is upon us and many teams would be striving to be the best on the planet once again. However, there are a few up-and-coming batsmen who can go a long way in terms of becoming a cricketing influence in their country.

5 Batsmen To Watch Out For In The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup

Can they start their journey in the 2023 ICC World Cup? Only time will tell but they have a massive chance of establishing their careers in the best possible manner.

2023 ICC World Cup Focus Players - Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jaiswal has been in the news ever since his triple-hundred in the Giles Shield match in 2015. The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 319 and was identified by the Limca Book of Records.

After getting selected for the Mumbai Under-16s squad in the U19s, he made his opportunity count by becoming the highest scorer of the tournament (318 runs). He wasn't finished here in the slightest.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

After his remarkable performances in his youth career, he earned a call to be in India's squad for the U19 World Cup in 2020. He became the highest scorer in the tournament and scored a century against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has had two reasonable reasons with Rajasthan Royals in the IPL so far. In the 2021 season with the 2008 IPL champions, he scored 249 runs in 10 innings, with one half-century. In the 2022 season, he scored 258 runs in 10 innings for Rajasthan, with two more fifties to his name.

2023 ICC World Cup Focus Players - Tristan Stubbs

You may have seen the acrobatic catch by Stubbs recently against England, which has blown over the entire Internet.

However, the good news for South African fans is that fielding is not the only attribute that Stubbs has. He has got bags of batting potential and has the capability of becoming South Africa's main batting asset for years to come.

Tristan Stubbs

The right-handed batsman has made 465 runs in eight first-class innings at an average of 46.50 for Eastern Province. He has made two first-class centuries so far in his career with his highest score being 132.

The biggest development of his career has come in the T20 format. Ever since he signed for Mumbai Indians in the 2022 IPL, his career has hit another gear. The right-handed batsman has played 23 T20 games so far in his career.

Stubbs' international debut came against India in the opening T20 game of the five-match series. However, he didn't do too much in the game apart from taking Ishan Kishan's catch.

In his T20 career so far, Stubbs has scored 595 runs with an average of 37.18. He has made four half-centuries so far in the shortest format of the game with the highest score of 80.

With the T20 World Cup around the corner and the 50-over World Cup coming next year, the South African cricket board may have to keep their eyes on the 21-year-old's evolution.

2023 ICC World Cup Focus Players - Josh Philippe

Despite being 25 and having a lack of matches for Australia, Philippe has done more than enough in the other domestic leagues and in his first-class career to establish himself as a permanent starter. It is all about seizing the moment.

Philippe's career started in a warm-up match against England for the 2017-18 Ashes, where he scored 88 runs off 92 balls. Based on this knock, the 25-year-old made his T20 debut against Perth Scorchers in the 2017 Big Bash League (BBL).
