With his fourth ODI century coming in the last game against South Africa, Mahumdullah has shown that there is no alternative to experience.

The right-handed batter played a phenomenal knock facing gun fast-bowlers and spinners in the Proteas jersey on Tuesday.

Although his ton was not enough to propel his team to the 400-run target, his positive intent towards batting helped him return to his absolute best with big games coming ahead of the tournament.

He has been slightly demoted down the order, but that has not stopped him from scoring runs. Through the years, the former Bangladesh captain has shown why he’s significant both with the ball and bat.

His addition to the team makes Bangladesh a well-rounded unit as he can bowl off-spin and hit big runs in late overs as a batsman as well.

The wicket at the Eden Gardens is generally a batsman’s paradise. It is flat and provides little to no assistance to the bowlers even with the new ball providing no swing.

In the IPL, Kolkata has witnessed high scoring games quite often. If similar conditions are on Saturday, then we are looking at a high-scoring contest between the two sides.
