Pandya was openly criticized in the media for a few decisions he took that did not go Mumbai’s way. Firstly, he irked experts for bowling the opening spell himself instead of giving it to Jasprit Bumrah, who is probably India’s best new-ball bowler.

At the end of the second innings, he demoted himself down the order and let Gerald Coetze and Tim David go for the big hits.

He went in with 19 needed in an over. He smacked a six and a four but then got out leaving the MI stranded with just 2 wickets remaining and nine runs needed in four balls. Piyush Chawla was out a ball later and GT pulled a win from the jaws of defeat.

IPL Match Prediction SRH vs MI Potential Game Changers

The players with the potential to clinch the Man of the Match award on Wednesday are:

Heinrich Klaassen

Former South Africa captain Heinrich Klaassen has been a T20 royalty for a while for some reason. His long levers help him change games in a matter of a few balls, and he almost did just the same in SRH’s last match against KKR.

His 29-ball 63 almost took Hyderabad home, but lack of support from the other end did not let SRH chase 209 as they fell short by 4 runs only.

His sixes don’t just land a few inches ahead of the boundary cushions, they usually go way inside the stands. Klaassen has been a power-hitting juggernaut in any league he has played in.

Mumbai Indians and co will have to avert his onslaught as early as they can, especially in the death overs.

Hardik Pandya

No matter how much criticism has been drawn, there's no denying that Pandya is one of the best white-ball all-rounders in world cricket.

He can bowl in crunch situations as well as send the ball deep into the stands at will. We did not get to see the best of his skills in the opening game of the season, but that does not mean he doesn’t have it.

The MI captain has 2,320 runs and 53 wickets with the best figures of 3/17.

He also led Gujarat Titans to two consecutive IPL finals (2022, 2023), winning the 2022 IPL in Gujarat’s debut season. It was the first time Pandya became captain of an IPL franchise.

Jasprit Bumrah

When you think of Mumbai Indians’ man of crisis, Jaspit Bumrah’s name pops up. The death-over specialist was outstanding with the ball in the last outing as well.

He gave only 14 runs and picked up three wickets in his quota of four overs.

As we talked about Klaassen’s finishing, MI fans will be looking up to Bumrah to stop the Klaassen storm if both come across each other in the death overs.

Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorkers are no joke. He has proven time and again that defending small targets is manageable if you can just be as accurate as him with the ball.

Mayank Agarwal

Although he scored only 32 before Harshit Rana gave him a nasty send-off and sent him back to the pavilion, Mayank Agarwal is a batter who likes to smack you in style.

With sweet timing behind his bat, Agarwal has won Punjab Kings numerous games in his time with the franchise. Now with Sunrisers, he will be looking to terrorize the bowlers again.

He has a high backlift with which he hammers the fast bowlers in the powerplay. And with the T20 World Cup year in progress, the 33-year-old opener will look to maximize every opportunity given to him to end up with the most runs.

IPL Match Prediction SRH vs MI

MI seems to have one of the best line-ups in the franchise. They have a quality leggy in the form of Piyush Chawla, all-rounders like Pandya, and hard-hitters like Tim David and Rohit Sharma with his elegance at the top.

SRH are an extremely well-rounded side as well, but they may not be as good as MI on paper.

Now, this doesn’t mean that SRH is the underdog. In fact, we have seen that teams with home advantage have a better shot at winning than the hosts.

Moreover, Mumbai Indians just do not seem to have a close bonded side. Bumrah looked unconvinced with Pandya at times and so did Rohit. The team needs to be on one page to pull off big wins and this may not be the situation at the MI camp as of now.

While Hyderabad also has a new skipper in the form of Pat Cummins, they seem very well put together despite losing the first one to Kolkata and Co.

Hence, SRH has a slight advantage of beating Pandya’s unit on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
