Puneri Paltan Team Overview:

The Puneri Paltan is a kabaddi team that represents Pune, Maharashtra, India in the Pro Kabaddi League. The Paltan has appointed BC Ramesh as their head coach for the third time in a row and they will play their home games at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex. Aslam Inamdar will carry on his role of captaincy this year.

They won the championship last year by beating Haryana Steelers in the finals by 28-25 scoreline. This was the first ever championship for the Paltan and they will be defending the title this year in Pro Kabaddi League.

Aslam Inamdar, their captain, will lead the charge. His partnership with Mohit Goyat will be a key highlight once again. With the addition of Pankaj Mohite, their attack has become even more strong, as they share the raiding duties to stay fresh. The team has also brought in the talented V. Ajith Kumar, who can easily fit into any lineup.

Puneri Paltan was not only strong in raiding but also in defense last season. The duo of Abinesh Nadarajan and Sanket Sawant never hesitate to go for a dash or a thigh hold.

A key player in their defense was Gaurav Khatri, who excelled in the right corner with 72 points. If the Paltan can maintain that level of performance, they might find themselves lifting the trophy once again.

BC Ramesh is one of the most well-respected and the best coaches in PKL. His knowledge of kabaddi is unparalleled, and he has been a crucial part of this sport’s phenomenal success.

He backed Puneri Paltan to the last in the ninth season, and the franchise also won its first championship last season. This year, he will be looking to replicate his performance with the Puneri Paltan team player 2025 in PKL 10 and win the trophy for the second time.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 1

The Puneri Paltan team had a rough start to their first season, only managing to secure two victories throughout the entire duration of the season. As a result, they finished last in the points table, which prevented them from qualifying for playoffs. 

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 2

The second season was also a disappointment for the Paltans as they struggled to win matches consistently and finished at the bottom of the points table once again. Out of their 14 games, they were only able to clinch two victories. 

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 3

However, things started looking up for them in Season 3 as they managed to qualify for playoffs and secured third place overall despite losing to Patna Pirates in the semifinals. They did manage to win against Bengal Warriors during the third-place match.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 4

 In Season 4, The Puneri Paltan team qualified for playoffs once again and finished fourth in the points table with among all players, Deepak Niwas Hooda having an exceptional season as a raider. Although they lost against Patna Pirates again during the semifinals, they did manage to beat Telugu Titans during their 3rd place match.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 5

The Puneri Paltan Team had a successful run during Season 5, managing to qualify for the playoffs for the third consecutive year. They secured second place in Zone A, earning them a spot in the eliminators. Unfortunately, they were defeated by Patna Pirates for the third time in three years during the playoffs.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 6

However, their success was short-lived as they failed to qualify for the playoffs during Season 6 of PKL. Despite their consistent performance over three years, Pune struggled to maintain their form and were eliminated early from the tournament. They finished fourth in Zone A.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 7

Season 7 proved to be a challenging one for Puneri Paltan as they struggled to win games consistently throughout the season. Their poor performance resulted in them finishing tenth with only seven wins out of 22 matches played, earning them just 48 points.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 8

During Season 8, the Puneri Paltan squad managed to secure a sixth place on the points table and qualified once again for the eliminators of the Pro Kabaddi League. However, their journey was cut short as they were defeated by UP Yoddhas with a score of 42-31. Despite qualifying for playoffs yet again, Pune fell short of going all the way.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 9

Puneri Paltan had an impressive run despite missing their top two raiders (Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat) towards the end of PKL Season 9. They finished as runners-up after losing a closely contested final against Jaipur Pink Panthers. The team utilized their bench players and squad well and managed to secure a place in the finals even without their star players. Puneri Paltan boasted one of the youngest teams with an average age of only 22, making them stand out from others in terms of bench strength and potential talent on display during season 9.

Puneri Paltan Team: Season 10

Puneri Paltan dida fantastic job last season winning the PKL championship. They were up against the Harayan Steelers and in the finals, they outscored them with a narrow margin of three points. This was Puneri’s first ever PKL championship.
