Gujrat Titans shocked the cricketing world as they won the IPL trophy in their inaugural season in 2022. The GT IPL team was led by Hardik Pandey, who not only dominated the entire league stage but also the playoffs to win the maiden trophy.

They were runners-up in their second season of IPL 2023 where Ravindra Jadeja won the Finals for Chennai Super Kings by hitting a four off Mohit Sharma on the last ball.

A Quick History of Gujrat Titans

In August 2021, the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL Cricket) asked for bids for two new IPL teams. Even though 22 companies were interested, only six seriously bid because of a high base price.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India allowed groups to bid together, and CVC Capital Partners won the rights for the Ahmedabad franchise by bidding ₹5,625 crores (US$700 million) in October 2021. Before the IPL 2022 auctions, the team chose Hardik Pandya as their captain. In February 2022, the team got its official name the Gujarat Titans.

Gujrat Titans Team Anthem & Logo

The initial team anthem for the Gujrat Titans was 'Aava De.' During the first IPL season, the song was performed by Aditya Gadhvi. The logo of GT IPL team was selected after the management decided to do a nationwide competition for the best logo. Many graphics designers showcased their skills and came up with amazing ideas and then the logo was selected where a Kite was seen soaring high and Gujrat written over it.

Home Ground and Fan Base of GT

GT IPL Team play their home matches at the largest cricket stadium in the world named Narender Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad with a seating capacity of almost 125,000 people. The Gujrat-based franchise has built a significant fan base due to its stellar performances and an IPL trophy in its very first year.
