How to Play Video Poker? Video Poker Rules
How to play video poker? In Video Poker, a typical 52-card deck is used during dealing, supplemented by virtual decks in the results phase. These virtual decks are created from the remaining cards in the physical deck after the initial deal and are randomized. After each round, all decks are shuffled anew.
Players have the option to play with up to 100 hands, each with its virtual deck. They can also select their preferred pay table. Initially, players start with zero hands.
Game Round
During the betting phase, players choose their bet amount, preferred pay table, and number of hands using buttons like +1, +10, MAX, and UNDO.
Players can select up to 100 hands, with the bet amount applied to each hand chosen. The total number of hands and the total bet are shown on the screen. For instance, if a player bets ₹1 and selects 20 hands, their total bet amount is ₹20.
The default pay table is "Jacks or Better," but players can pick from five options:
- Jacks or Better
- Tens or Better
- Deuces Wild
- Bonus Poker
- Double Double Bonus
After the betting phase, the dealer reveals five physical cards face-up. The lower half of the screen displays the dealt five-card hand (referred to as the "Main Hand"), while the upper half shows the player's selected virtual hands face-down.
Next, the decision phase starts, where players choose which cards from the initial five to keep or replace. They can hold between zero and five cards.
A guide indicates which cards of the Main Hand should be kept based on the default strategy for the selected pay table. Players can follow this suggestion or make their decisions.
To hold a card, players click or tap it, changing the status from "HOLD" below to "HELD" on top of the card.
When the decision phase ends, the additional hands on the top half display the cards held by the player. Cards not marked as HELD are replaced with new ones from the virtual decks. Each hand has its virtual deck.
If no cards are held during the decision phase, the default decision is made for the player.
Default Strategy
When players decide not to hold or tap any cards during the decision phase, the default strategy automatically holds the suggested cards (highlighted), while the rest are replaced with new ones from the virtual deck.
The default strategy varies based on the chosen pay table:
Jacks or Better
- Always hold a Straight Flush or higher
- If you have four cards to a Flush, hold those four

- If you have Three of a Kind or higher, hold those cards
- If you have one deuce, hold it
- If you have four cards to a Straight or a Flush, hold those four
- If you have a pair, hold those cards
- Hold no cards
Wild Cards
In Deuces Wild, all 2s (Deuces) are wild cards, meaning they can substitute for any other card in the deck. So, if you have a Deuce, you can consider it as any card you need to make the best possible hand.

- If you have three Aces, hold those three
- If you have any pair or higher, hold those cards

- If you have four cards to a Flush, hold all cards of that suit
- If you have any pair or higher, hold those cards
- If you have four cards to a Straight, hold those four. If two Straights are possible, keep the one with the highest card
- If you have a Jack or higher, hold your highest card

Observing the Game
If a player joins the table while a game round is already in progress or if they haven't selected any hands to play, they can observe the ongoing game until the next round starts. This allows them to familiarize themselves with the gameplay and observe how the game unfolds before participating.
Game Result
After players decide which cards to keep, the ones they don't want are switched with new ones from the virtual decks. Then, the game shows if they won anything and how much.
Video Poker Evolution Online Casino Game Winning Hands
Cards are ranked from highest to lowest as follows: Ace (can be high or low), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2.
An Ace can be the highest card in a sequence like A, K, Q, J, 10 or the lowest card in a sequence like 5, 4, 3, 2, A.
Here are the possible hands ranked from the highest payout to the lowest:
- Royal Flush: A Straight Flush containing the Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10, all in the same suit.
- Straight Flush: Five cards in a sequence, all of the same suit, like 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5, all Hearts for example.
- Four of a Kind: All four cards of one rank plus any other card. For instance, four Aces.
- Full House: Three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank, like three Kings and two 6s.
- Flush: Five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence, like five Clubs.
- Straight: Five cards of sequential rank in at least two different suits, such as 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5 in different suits.
- Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank plus two cards not of this rank or the same as each other, like three Kings.
- Two Pairs: Two cards of one rank, two cards of another rank (matching each other but not the first pair), and one card not of either rank, for example, two Aces and two Kings.
Video Poker Evolution Online Casino Game Payouts
Each hand pays out based on the single highest eligible ranking in the chosen pay table.
For instance, if a player selects the Jacks or Better pay table and has a hand with a pair of Aces and a pair of 8s, this combination could qualify as both Two Pairs and Jacks or Better. In this case, the player would be paid according to the Two Pairs payout because Two Pairs ranks higher than Jacks or Better.

Video Poker Game Big Win
Summary
Having live dealers deal with the initial cards and then using RNG for the rest makes sense, especially when you're playing lots of hands. And yeah, playing 100 hands might be overkill, but sticking to around 10 keeps things manageable and lets you see how the game unfolds.
The pay tables are pretty generous too, just like the 9/6 Jacks or Better ones you find in casinos. So, you know you're getting good odds there.
Overall, I think this live dealer Video Poker game will be a hit. It might not be as fast-paced as slots, but it's got its charm. I'd recommend giving it a shot, especially if you're into Video Poker. Just make sure to brush up on your strategies first!
